Lakeside Residence sits along the west shore of Lake Washington, oriented toward sweeping water views and Bellevue’s evolving skyline. Referencing its predecessor while embracing a contemporary sensibility, the new home reorients daily life toward the lake and gardens through expansive glazing, bi-folding doors, generous decks, and a fourth-floor crow’s nest office.
Sustainability is integrated throughout the design. Rainwater is collected and expressed as a visible landscape feature—flowing from a steel downspout onto a trellis, through a garden creek, and into an underground cistern for irrigation. A high-efficiency radiant hot water system provides comfortable, low-energy heating, while copper shingles reclaimed from the original house are reimagined as part of the new roof.
